Caledonia defeated Grandville 10 to 0 Sammie Gehrls picked up her 14 win with no losses 
on the season. Caledonia is now 21 and 4 overall and  15 and 2 in the league.

5/15 Cal 10 - Hud 0; Cal 3 - Hud 5

Caledonia split their Double header with Hudsonville.

Caledonia won the first game 10 to 0 in 6 inn. Caledonia had 4 home runs in the game 
2 by Abby Mitchell 1 by Sammie Gehrls and 1 by Ashleigh VanZytveld. 

Caledonia lost the second game 5 to 3 Ashleigh Van Zytveld continued with her hot bat 
going 3 for 4 
 

5/5 Cal 9 - Rockford 8; Cal 14 - Rockford 7

Caledonia defeated Rockford 9 to 8 in the first game of their DH Sammie Gerhls got the win - Striking out 9
Caledonia won the second game 14 to 7 Emily Hamp picked up the win in the Second game-  striking out 7.
 

5/3 CAL 16 - Holland Chr. 3
Caledonia defeated Holland Chr. 16 to 0 in 3 innings. It was the 3rd annual Good Samaritan game. Leading the way for Caledonia was Sammie Gehrls who went 3 for 3 with 2 doubles  Abby Mitchell who hit a 2 run HR and Alyssa DeGood 3 for 3 with 2 doubles driving in the winning runs.

Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity Defeats East Kentwood In A Blow-Out Victory
Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity coasted to an easy victory over East Kentwood 10-2 on Tuesday

Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity got things started in the first inning when Emmalee Hampdoubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity scored four runs in the sixth inning. Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity's big inning was driven by doubles by Taylor Cross and Julia Becker and a single by Sammie Gehrls.

Gehrls was the winning pitcher for Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity. She lasted six innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out seven and walking one. Alyssa DeGood threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

A Fitzgerald took the loss for East Kentwood. She lasted six innings, allowing 12 hits and ten runs while striking out three and walking one.

East Kentwood socked two home runs on the day. K Dunn had a dinger in the second inning. A Smith had a homer in the seventh inning.

Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity saw the ball well today, racking up 12 hits in the game. Abby Mitchell, Gehrls, and Becker each managed multiple hits for Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity.Mitchell led Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity with three hits in four at bats.  Smith went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead East Kentwood in hits.

With Sammie On The Mound, Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity Shuts Out East Kentwood
Sammie Gehrls didn't allow a single run against East Kentwood, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity to a 4-0 victory on Tuesday
Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity got things started in the second inning. Taylor Cross drove in one when she singled.

A single by A Smith in the second inning was a positive for East Kentwood.
Gehrls took the win for Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity. She lasted seven innings, allowing four hits and zero runs while striking out six.

P Stroster took the loss for East Kentwood. She lasted six innings, allowing nine hits and four runs while striking out one and walking one.

Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity socked two home runs on the day. Cross put one out in the fourth inning. Abby Mitchell had a dinger in the fifth inning.

Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity Blows Away Hudsonville By Six Runs

Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity had no trouble on offense today, winning big over Hudsonville 7-1

Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity got things moving in the first inning. Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity scored one run when Sammie Gehrls doubled. Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity tallied three runs in the fourth inning. The offensive onslaught by Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity was led by Emmalee Hamp and Abby Mitchell, all driving in runs in the frame.

Gehrls got the win for Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity. She lasted seven innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out 13 and walking zero.

A Talsma took the loss for Hudsonville. She went six innings, allowing seven runs on 11 hits and striking out four. Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity smacked two home runs on the day. Mitchell went yard in the third inning. Gehrls had a homer in the third inning.

Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity collected 11 hits on the day. Gehrls, Ashleigh VanZytveld, and Hamp all collected multiple hits for Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity.

Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity Takes Victory In High-Scoring Game Over Grandville, 10-6
The base paths were crowded today for both offenses in a high-scoring game where Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity came out on top against Grandville, 10-6.
Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity fired up the offense in the first inning, when Sammie Gehrlshomered on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.

Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity put up four runs in the sixth inning. Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity batters contributing to the big inning included Brooklynne Siewertsen, Taylor Cross, Alyssa DeGood, and Ashleigh VanZytveld, all driving in runs in the inning.

Gehrls earned the win for Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity. She lasted five and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and two runs while striking out seven and walking zero. DeGood threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen.

L Dulcesherer took the loss for Grandville. She lasted six innings, allowing nine hits and ten runs.

Cross went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity in hits. Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Cross had the most chances in the field with eight.

Grandville tallied 11 hits in the game. K Orme, T Butler, M Bently, and C Deckrow each managed multiple hits for Grandville.

Despite Strong Fight, Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity Can't Top Grandville
Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity fought back after falling down by seven runs in the fifth inning.
The comeback fell just short though, in an 11-10 defeat to Grandville on Tuesday. 

Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity scored six runs in the failed comeback on a groundout by Julia Becker in the sixth, a home run by Emmalee Hamp in the seventh, a home run by Taylor Cross in the seventh, and a home run by Abby Mitchell in the seventh.


Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity fell behind early in the loss. Grandville scored on a double by L Dulcesherer and a home run by K Orme in the first inning.

In the first inning, Grandville got their offense started when Dulcesherer doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity scored five runs in the seventh inning. Hamp, Cross, and Mitchell each drove in runs during the inning.
Grandville scored four runs in the fourth inning. Grandville scored its runs on a grand slam by T Butler.

Orme got the win for Grandville. She allowed 12 hits and ten runs over seven innings, striking out seven and walking one.

Hamp took the loss for Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity. She allowed four hits and three runs over one inning, striking out one.

Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity tallied five home runs on the day. Cross had a four bagger in the seventh inning. Mitchell went for the long ball in the second and seventh innings. Hamp had a long ball in the seventh inning. Sammie Gehrls went deep in the third inning. Grandville mashed three home runs on the day. Orme had a dinger in the first and fifth innings. Butler had a four bagger in the fourth inning.

Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity tallied 12 hits in the game. Cross, Mitchell, and Gehrls all managed multiple hits for Caledonia Fighting Scots
Varsity. Mitchell and Cross each collected three hits to lead Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity. Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Cross made the most plays with seven.

Grandville totaled 14 hits. Butler, Orme, and M Bently all had multiple hits for Grandville. Butlerled Grandville with three hits in four at bats.

Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity Clinches Lead In Sixth Inning To Defeat Grand Haven.

Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity ran off with the lead late in the game in a 4-3 victory over Grandhaven on Monday. Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity trailed 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth inning when Emmalee Hamp singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity got on the board in the first inning when Sammie Gehrlsgrounded out, scoring one run.

Gehrls was the winning pitcher for Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity. She surrendered three runs on five hits over seven innings, striking out ten.

M Shunmaler took the loss for Grandhaven. She went six innings, allowing four runs on 11 hits.  Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity racked up 11 hits. Julia Becker, Hamp, and Alyssa DeGoodeach racked up multiple hits for Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity. DeGood, Hamp, and Beckereach managed two hits to lead Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity.

Ashlyn Hall went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Grandhaven in hits.

Game 2 11-4 W

Four RBI Day For Taylor Cross Brings Victory For Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity Over Grand Haven.  Taylor Cross was bad news for opposing pitchers on Monday, driving in four on three hits to lead Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity past Grandhaven 11-4 on Monday. Cross drove in runs on a home run in the third and a double in the fifth.

Grand Haven scored three runs in the fifth inning, but Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for Grandhaven came thanks to singles by H Aldred and K Stafford and a groundout by J Crow.

In the first inning, Grandhaven got their offense started when Ashlyn Hall grounded out, scoring one run. Emmalee Hamp took the win for Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity. She went five innings, allowing four runs on eight hits, striking out five and walking one. Sammie Gehrls and Alyssa DeGood entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

M Fabor took the loss for Grand Haven. She went two innings, allowing zero runs on three hits and striking out two.

Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity smacked two home runs on the day. Cross went for the long ball in the third inning. Gehrls went yard in the third inning.

Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity collected 17 hits. Hamp, Cross, Gehrls, Julia Becker, Abby Mitchell, and Ashleigh VanZytveld all collected multiple hits for Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity.Hamp went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity in hits.

Grandhaven racked up eight hits on the day. Stafford, Aldred, and Baby Hang each had multiple hits for Grandhaven.

Two Pitchers Team Up As Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity Shuts Out West Ottawa

Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity defeated West Ottawa 8-0 on Thursday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Alyssa DeGood struck out H Taylor to finish off the game.

Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity was boosted by Sammie Gehrls who went 4-for-4 at the plate.Gehrls singled in the first, homered in the third, doubled in the fourth, and tripled in the sixth.

Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity got things started in the first inning. Gehrls singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity put up three runs in the sixth inning. The offensive onslaught came from a triple by Gehrls and a home run by Abby Mitchell.

A single by A Sprick in the fourth inning was a positive for West Ottawa.
Gehrls got the win for Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity. She went five innings, allowing zero runs on three hits, striking out nine and walking zero. DeGood threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. DeGood recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity.

K Carter took the loss for West Ottawa. She lasted six innings, allowing 11 hits and eight runs while striking out one.

Caledonia Fighting Scots Varsity socked two home runs on the day. Mitchell had a long ball in the sixth inning. Gehrls went deep in the third inning.

Caledonia defeated East Kentwood 8 to 1 Julia Becker went 3 for 3 at the plate with a home run. 


4/11 Cal 11 - SC 1

Caledonia beat South Christian 11 to 1 in 5 inn in their 2nd game of their double hearder
Sammie Gehrls went 3 for 3 with 2 Home runs and 3 RBI's Sammie picked up up her second win of the season striking out 8.

Also with big hits in the game were Ashleigh VanZytveld with a double and 2 Rbi's and Julie Becker 2 for 3 with 2 Rbi's
