Young 5's
Our Young Fives program meets five full days each week and is designed for children who need additional time and support to develop the skills needed for a successful kindergarten experience. The Young Fives curriculum provides appropriate social, emotional, physical, and intellectual experiences to prepare children for success in school.

CCS has an app that has become a very helpful communication tool for district announcements. It will be important that you have the Caledonia Community Schools App downloaded on your phone to receive important updates over the summer and into the school year.
Open House
Our Young Fives Open House will be held in late-August during the afternoon and early evening. Details regarding format, specific times, and the date will be shared in mid-August via email to all enrolled families.

School Calendar
Young Fives students attend school according to the Caledonia Community Schools district calendar. They attend school for five full days at the Duncan Lake Early Childhood Center. The start and end times for the 2022/23 school year are 8:45 AM - 3:40 PM on full days.

School Lunches
Our Young Fives student can either bring a lunch from home or order lunch from our school cafeteria. Please visit our food services website for more information.
All students attending Caledonia Community Schools are eligible for free breakfast and lunch during the 2023-24 school year. This is due to the new “Free Meals for All” legislation passed by the State of Michigan this year.

Young Fives 2023/24
Start and End Times
Monday - Friday 8:40am - 3:40pm
Half-Day Dismissal 12:00pm
Student Drop off Time
Please park in the lot next to the playground and wait with your child for the teachers to come out to collect the students. When the bus arrives is your cue that the teachers will be out in just a moment. If the bus has already left when you arrive, please sign your student in through the front office (entrance on Duncan Lake).
