What Will Your Child Learn At School?

The Michigan Department of Education has established standards and benchmarks that all school districts must follow.  School districts are given the flexibility to choose their own textbooks, resources, materials, and methods, but all schools must teach the State Standards. These standards and benchmarks can be found within the Michigan Merit Curriculum and are assessed through the MSTEP and SAT tests.   Caledonia Community Schools meets these State Standard requirements by following our district curriculum which is correlated with the Michigan Merit Curriculum.

About Cancer Walk

The Duncan Lake Middle School Cancer Walk is part of Van Andel Institute's Purple Community, a grassroots fundraising program. One hundred percent of donations go directly to cancer research.

In May 2008 Duncan Lake hosted its first Cancer Walk. We raised a little over $500 through bake sales and fun activities. Since 2010, the Student Council at Duncan Lake Middle School has held its Cancer Walk every spring to raise money to donate to The Van Andel Institute Purple Community. Over $200,000 has been raised in the last fifteen years!

This year the DLMS Cancer Walk will be on May 19, 2023.
