Welcome to CCS PreK & Preschool! We are excited to welcome our youngest Fighting Scots for the 2026–2027 school year.
Our 4 Year Old PreK and Preschool programs provide a welcoming, engaging environment where children can learn, grow, and build the skills they need for a successful start to school. Through play-based learning, children develop early literacy and math skills, build social-emotional skills, gain independence, and get ready for Young Fives and Kindergarten.
Free Full-Day PreK
- Full-day program taught by Caledonia Community Schools
- Focused on kindergarten readiness
- Curriculum aligned to early learning and kindergarten expectations
- For the 2026–2027 school year, PreK will be offered at:
- Each Caledonia Community Schools elementary school, and
- Duncan Lake Early Childhood Center (DLECC) as overflow space, based on enrollment
- First day of school is September 21, 2026
Tuition-Based Preschool
Tuition-based Preschool options are offered through CCS Preschool and may include:
- Half-day schedules
- Located at the Duncan Lake Early Childhood Center (DLECC)
- First day of school is September 8, 2026
Specific schedules and offerings are determined annually based on enrollment.

YMCA Wrap Care
Need child care before or after preschool? The YMCA offers wraparound care Monday through Thursday at each CCS elementary school. On Fridays, full-day care is available at Duncan Lake Early Childhood Center (DLECC).

Who Is Eligible?
- Children who turn 4 years old on or before December 1, 2026 (FREE, Full-Day PreK)
- Children who turn 4 years old on or before September 30, 2026 (Tuition-Based)
- Children must be fully potty-trained by the first day of school

Free PreK & Tuition-Based preschool classrooms use Connect 4 Learning (C4L), a research-based curriculum that integrates math, science, literacy, and social-emotional learning through meaningful, hands-on experiences.
- Foundational Math: Building number sense, problem-solving skills, and early geometric thinking.
- Science Exploration: Asking questions, experimenting, exploring, and making discoveries.
- Early Literacy: Developing language skills and building a love of books, stories, and reading.
- Social-Emotional Learning: Learning to manage emotions, build relationships, solve problems, and interact positively with others.
The Connect4Learning curriculum aligns with kindergarten expectations and supports a smooth transition into Young Fives and Kindergarten.
