Welcome to Emmons Lake Elementary
A Message from the Principal
Welcome to Emmons Lake Elementary! It is an honor to begin my journey with Caledonia Community Schools as the Emmons Lake Elementary Principal. The mission of Emmons Lake is to provide an exemplary education for all children in a safe and caring environment. We use that mission to work together with our vision of educational excellence for every child, every day! This is something you will see from all staff members the moment you walk into the building. We have many points of pride, but are especially proud of the dedicated staff, student successes, family involvement, and our beautiful facilities.
The teachers and staff are dedicated to providing all students with a high quality education. They work to prepare them academically, socially, and emotionally for life in the 21st century. Emmons Lake staff members are engaged in professional learning communities, team collaboration, and have a continuous growth mindset for learning. We are grateful to our team of educators.
Along with our amazing staff, our students are an incredible source of pride. Each year, they continue to perform above the state and national tests and just as important, they demonstrate characteristics of kindness, creativity, perseverance, and empathy to themselves and others. We have amazing students and are so thankful for the opportunity to work with our future leaders.
In addition to strong staff and wonderful students, family involvement and engagement is strong at Emmons Lake. The PTO is active and helps to provide additional resources and support that classrooms may need. Throughout the year, they sponsor events for the students such as the Harvest Hustle Walk for Funds, Fall Festival, Read and SOAR Incentive Program and our SOAR incentive program which focuses on positive student behavior. Parents are actively involved as volunteers in the classrooms and can be found working with students and helping teachers each school day. Together, we work to develop strong partnerships between home and school.
We are also grateful to the community of Caledonia that has provided the students of Emmons Lake a beautiful building in which to learn. Opened in 1999, it was designed around the students and the curriculum delivery system. Staff use space to enhance instruction, design innovative activities and create a safe environment for students to learn at high levels. Emmons Lake Elementary School continues to service the families of Caledonia with academic excellence for students and pride in our warm and family friendly atmosphere.
Again, welcome to our Emmons Lake family. We are honored to have you with us and look forward to learning, celebrating, and growing together. Go Scots!

Use Our Library Program From Home
The Caledonia schools have begun using a new web-based library program called Destiny. This program can be accessed anywhere you have internet. You can see what books your student has checked out, their cost if they are lost, and see a history of all the books they have checked out from the Dutton library. Your student can also make a personal list of books they would like to check out to use when they come to library, hold a book if it is checked out, and they can recommend a book to others or write a review. To log onto this program, click the link found here and choose Dutton Elementary. Login in the upper right corner. The user name is your student's FirstNameLastName with no spaces. The password is their student ID number. Check out our exciting new program with them!
