We’re excited to support your participation at the Kent Career Tech Center (KCTC) for the upcoming school year. Below are important details regarding the start of the KCTC school year, transportation, and attendance policies. Please review this information carefully to ensure a smooth start to the school year.

First Day of KCTC

  • KCTC begins on Monday, August 24, 2026.

  • Transportation will be provided from CHS to KCTC and back beginning August 24.

Pickup & Drop-off Location at CHS: Front entrance near the student parking lot.

Students are not required to ride the bus and may choose to drive themselves or carpool, with parent permission. CHS parking permits are not valid on KCTC grounds. Those who plan to drive must follow KCTC guidelines to obtain a parking pass specific to their program/campus.

Attendance Expectations

  • Students are required to attend KCTC every day it is in session.

  • The CHS attendance policy applies to all KCTC attendance.

  • KCTC operates on two 20-week semesters.

  • Students may be subject to truancy laws and school discipline for unexcused absences.

  • Exceptions are made only for: documented medical absences, death in the family, or approved school-related absences.

  • For student-athletes, attendance at KCTC counts toward full-day attendance and athletic eligibility.

  • Kent Career Tech Center is a closed campus. Once students arrive on school grounds, they are to remain in the school building until they are scheduled to leave. Students who leave school without office permission will be considered truant/absent.

More information regarding KCTC policies and procedures can be found on their website. For questions or concerns related to KCTC, you will primarily be communicating with Mrs. Peters (CHS Counselor) or Mrs. Miller (Student Services Assistant). We are here to help and will do our best to provide you with the information and support you need.

Finally, please remember that checking your school email is your responsibility. Important information regarding snow days, half days, exams, schedule changes, and other announcements may be communicated by email.

Students can be transported from Caledonia High School to KCTC and back again via Caledonia Community Schools busing. The departure location is at the front office entrance.

Caledonia will start KCTC bussing on August 24, 2026
