Academic Awards and Honor Cords

Academic awards and honor cords are based on cumulative GPA (not semester GPA) from all high school courses through the first semester of grade 12. GPA is reported to 4 decimal places and will not be rounded up.

Academic Awards (distributed at Senior Recognition Night)

  • Summa Cum Laude: Gold Certificate - Cumulative GPA 4.0000+ after first semester of grade 12

  • Magna Cum Laude: Silver Certificate - Cumulative GPA 3.5000-3.9999 after first semester of grade 12

Academic Honor Cords (distributed at graduation practice)

  • Summa Cum Laude: Gold Cord - Cumulative GPA 4.0000+ after first semester of grade 12

  • Magna Cum Laude: Silver Cord - Cumulative GPA 3.5000-3.9999 after first semester of grade 12

  • Cum Laude: Bronze Cord - Cumulative GPA 3.3300-3.4999 after first semester of grade 12

Semester Honor Roll

Honor Rolls are calculated at the end of first and second semester. The GPA is calculated for the semester only – NOT cumulative GPA.

  • “With highest honor" will be awarded to students whose semester GPA is 4.0000+

  • "With great honor" will be awarded to students whose semester GPA is 3.5000-3.9999

  • "With honor" will be awarded to students whose semester GPA is 3.3300-3.4999
