SME Prime
General Information
SME PRIME Program at CHS
Caledonia High School is proud to be one of 16 high schools in Michigan selected to join the SME PRIMEĀ® (Partnership Response In Manufacturing Education) program through a public-private partnership with the SME Education Foundation and the State of Michigan.
This program brings industry-aligned manufacturing and engineering opportunities directly to our students. It connects classroom learning with hands-on experiences that reflect real-world needs.
What This Means for CHS Students
As a SME PRIME school, CHS students now have access to:
- Tailored project-based learning opportunities
- Advanced manufacturing and engineering technology
- Curriculum developed with input from local manufacturers
- Industry-recognized certifications
- Scholarships and extracurricular program support
These experiences help students prepare for high-demand, high-wage careers in Michigan's growing manufacturing sector. In fact, 91 percent of SME PRIME seniors pursue manufacturing after graduation.
Courses at CHS
Courses aligned with the SME PRIME program are available through our Career and Technical Education (CTE) offerings in engineering and manufacturing.
