Healthy Kids Running Series – Fall 2024

Join us for five weeks of racing fun this fall with the Healthy Kids Running Series (HKRS) Caledonia! Designed for children ages 2 through 8th grade, HKRS offers age-appropriate races ranging from a 50-yard dash to a 1-mile run. We also feature a Challenger Division, a 75-yard dash for children with special needs who may benefit from extra assistance on the course.

This family-friendly and inclusive series welcomes all abilities and experience levels. Runners earn points each week, with cumulative top finishers in each division receiving trophies. Every participant is celebrated, with all runners receiving a medal at the Week 5 finish line. Registration includes all five races, a tech t-shirt, sponsor giveaways, and a medal at the final event. Single-day registration is also available for $15 on race day.

Races will take place on Sundays – September 7, 14, 21, 28, and October 5 (with a rain date of October 12 if needed). All races start at 4:00 p.m. and the entire event lasts about an hour.

Caledonia Kids Theatre – Casting Call

Caledonia Kids Theatre is excited to announce auditions for students entering 2nd–6th grade for the upcoming 2025–2026 season! Auditions will be held on October 1 or 2, 2024, beginning at 3:00 p.m. at Duncan Lake Middle School. Students in grades 5–6 will audition for parts, while those in grades 2–4 will shine in the chorus.

Registration must be completed through the Caledonia Resource Center either online at https://www.calschools.org/our-district/caledonia-resource-center/ or in person. A $65 fee is required at registration, and students must be registered and paid in full to audition. Please note, space is limited to 125 students for this production.

The first rehearsal will take place on October 10, 2024, followed by a parent meeting at 5:30 p.m. in the Duncan Lake Middle School PAC. For the full calendar and more details, visit caledoniayouththeatre.org. See the flyer below. 

CCS Unified Sports is hosting a fundraiser to support their program. This initiative brings students with and without disabilities together through physical activity and education, powered by Special Olympics. Proceeds will help fund travel and tournaments throughout the school year. Orders are open until Friday, September 5, and will be delivered to the school selected at checkout. Save the date for the Senior Class of 2026 Fundraiser on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Tyler Creek Golf Course. The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. and promises a fun night of fundraising to support our seniors. Guests can choose between the Glow Golf Tournament or Boombox Bingo, with food, music, and auction opportunities rounding out the night. Check out the flyer for more details.
