Free Student Lunches Available Through KDL & Feeding America
Kent District Library (KDL) is proud to partner with Feeding America West Michigan to offer free, shelf-stable lunches to students under the age of 18, or up to age 26 for individuals with disabilities. These easy pick-up meals are nutritious, pre-packaged, and include a variety of options to meet nearly every dietary need. Join Us for the Kilt Klassic 5K Run/Walk – June 28, 2025
Lace up your sneakers and don your tartan for the Kilt Klassic 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, June 28, 2025! The race kicks off at 8:00 AM near the Caledonia High School north entrance at 9050 Kraft Ave, Caledonia, MI. The scenic course winds through the Caledonia campus, Thornapple Trail, Lakeside Park, and finishes back at the high school. A Kids Fun Run will follow at 9:15 AM.
Packet pickup will be held at the north entrance on Friday, June 27 from 4:00–7:00 PM, and again on race day, Saturday, June 28, from 7:00–7:45 AM. T-shirts are guaranteed only for those who register by June 16—so don’t wait!
All proceeds benefit the Caledonia High School Men’s and Women’s Track & Field and Cross Country programs.

Holy Family Food Pantry – Here to Help Local Families
Know a local family in need? The Holy Family Food Pantry is here to support neighbors facing food insecurity. Food distribution takes place on the second Tuesday and Thursday of each month. If you or someone you know lives within the boundaries of Patterson to 76th Street and 108th Street to Whitneyville, they may be eligible for assistance. Upon arrival, families must present a valid driver’s license and current first-class mail as proof of residency. The pantry operates as a self-shop model, offering compassionate support while allowing families to choose food items that best meet their needs. Together, we can ensure no family in our community goes without. Check out the flyer for more information.
Support Caledonia Bands – Scrap Metal Drop-Off Event
Clean out your garage or workshop and support a great cause! On Friday, May 10th, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, bring your scrap metal to the Ralph parking lot and drop it off at the designated dumpster to benefit Caledonia Bands. A list of acceptable and unacceptable items is included on the event flyer—please check it for details before loading your vehicle. Your donations help fund equipment, travel, and music opportunities for our talented student musicians!
The Green Lake Association is hosting its annual Boating Safety class for those 12+ years old (or turning 12 this summer) on Saturday, May 31st from 8 am to 3 pm at the Green Lake Calvary Church gym. If you would like to attend, you need to register on-line before the class by going to our Association website (www.greenlake.us) and on the home page you will find a link that will re-direct you to the DNR registration page. The class is limited to 50 persons.
The class is FREE and is taught by the Allegan County Sheriff's Dept. All persons attending should plan on bringing a #2 pencil and a lunch. A morning snack and bottle of water will be provided by the Association.
